Saying i moved the PC the monitor cable would not reach, so I used an old VGA switching box, only now that monitor is got a very poor signal :(

Holidays gone for another year, less than 364 days for the scars to heal.
I did get some cool stuff though! like the Pioneer DVD writer (manages all formats including dual layer), lots of simpsons merchandise, clock/radio/shower bits etc. Not to mention simpsons DVD box sets for seasons three and four plus the LOTR trilliogy box set (normal version).
And we gave some great presents, including a sweet grabber/ufo picker that played annoying music, USB massage ball and LOTR trillogy box set (normal version) to the person who bought the other one !!
I have rejiggered my machine so the new DVD writer fits in, this means I lose the 5 1/4 bay fan temp monitor thingy, that was not getting the use it deserved and move the whole system under the desk so the noise lessened (sans lights).

HELP! I am addicted to Halo2 online !
But when i am not smotting the evil doers online i have been reading "the tortilla curtain" by T.C. Boyle, no idea why i picked up this book, maybe just the cactus on the cover caught me.
Anyway this book is a major literary master piece, which means some people will not like it.
Very well written and easy to get into, the tortilla curtain, weaves a tale of two families caught in lifes little tradegies and how they cope (or not) with what is thrown there way.
No, its not funny, even in a black way, this is hard core tradegy !
Makes the little things in life all the more precious, ahhh.

New page is up for how I got my Cherry CyMotion Master Linux Keyboard to work in USB mode link
You can fix stale donuts with a quick blast in the microwave for 20-30 secs
you must use "SET NOCOUNT ON" in a SQL stored procedure if you are using temporary tables and want to return a recordset.
I suck at Halo 2 rumble slayer :(

Well I patched my Kernel with the patch that came with the keyboard and rebooted, kernel hung !
(but after most things had loaded) unplugged the usb keyboard and boots fine, plug keyboard in and now get ALL the keys WooHoo !
Finished reading "The living wisdom of Socrates" the being was OK, got a bit preachy but the second half (and a bit) was just passages from Plato and Xenophon, overall poor.

Goodness me its December already !
Got my first Xmas present (and no I did not buy for myself), Sarah desperately wanted the coffee maker I had got her (a posh capsule thingy) so I agreed only I got something.
I got the Cherry CyMotion USB multimedia LINUX styled keyboard ! (say that after a few pints)
It has some 26 extra buttons as well as a stylish black and silver appearance, not to mention the nice TUX logo (color) top right and the win(cough)dows replaced with mini tuxes (or is that tuxi ?)
Although some of the extra keys work straight I am still trying to find the least disruptive way of access the rest.
You have to remember that my previous keyboard was a true AT from a 486, and after my adaptations looks a little decrepit. I will have to try and recover all the neon string I super glued into the old thing before retiring it completely.
Finished the last episode of Excel Saga (finally), interestingly the last episode is not the final episode ;)
Well the final episode is the one before the last one, and I have to say I was getting bored with the whole not plot thing but now its over I want more ! I will have to be on the lookout for Puni Puni Poemy, which is from the same people but looks (!?) a little more mainstream !
